Students

Did you know that students donate approximately 20 percent of the Southern Region’s
blood supply? Bloodstock is geared toward recruiting, retaining and rewarding our high
school student blood donors. Bloodstock specifics are as follows:
  • Schools must host at least two drives during the school year.

  • At the second drive, all blood drive participants will receive a Bloodstock-shirt.

  • All participating schools will be listed on the back of the T-shirt.

  • If a school hosts a third drive during the school year, all presenting donors will receive another Red Cross branded gift.

  • A special gift will be given to the faculty member who spearheads the drive at each high school. These gifts will be available at the end of the school year.

In addition, the Southern Region holds blood drives at elementary and middle school schools
for faculty, staff and parents while educating young students about the importance of donating
blood and platelets and become regular donors once they reach 17 years of age.

If your school is interested in hosting a blood drive, please call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or e-mail russellta@usa.redcross.org.
